CLK boosters are thankful

To the editor:

The Calumet All Sports Booster Club and the student athletes of CLK schools offer our sincerest thanks to the over 70 businesses and individuals throughout the Copper Country and beyond who gave generously in support of the club’s annual Spring Fling. We also thank everyone who attended this year’s event. The conditions may not have been spring-like but the combined support of our business community and attendees made this year’s event one of our most successful in recent history.

The Calumet All Sports Booster Club could not provide the level of support to our student athletes for the last 30 years if it were not for the club’s membership and the dedication and continued support of businesses in and around the Copper Country. Our combined communities not only support the CLK athletic programs, but all the programs from Chassell to South Range and up the spine of the Keweenaw to Copper Harbor. This alone is a testament to the importance our communities place on high school athletics in the Copper Country.

The rich traditions of our programs, the life lessons and memories gained by the athletes – these are priceless. The financial support provided by membership, personal and business cash gifts and donations of product and services are lifelines to continued program successes. Supporting student athletes through the purchase of power cards, candy, car washes and can drives is equally valuable. Volunteering in the concession, ticket booth, or selling the 50/50’s by the stretch These combined levels of individual and business support have and will see our programs through tough times, provided for the safety of our student athletes, and represent our communities’ steadfast commitment to our high school athletic programs and the student athletes themselves.

In closing, please know, wherever you fit into this close-knit web of supportWe thank you.
