Library friends offer their thanks

To the Editor:

We Friends of the Calumet Public Library held our annual fundraising book sale on June 29, and it was extremely successful. Many individuals and businesses helped greatly. We heartily thank:

Dan Riutta Contracting, who donated two months of book storage space.

Designotype Printing, who provided many many fine boxes.

The River Valley Bank in Calumet publicized our sale on their marquee, and so did the AmericInn in Calumet. That helped a lot and we appreciate it.

The Goodwill facility near the airport kindly accepted our unsold books. This was a huge help.

The CLK Schools allowed us to use the multipurpose room that Saturday. Mike Hale and the custodians moved huge amounts of books as well as many tables into the room.

They also helped with the take-down. And Patty Hale in the library helped unstintingly in the whole effort. Hooray for CLK!

We thank the donors of all the quality books, we thank the Library Friends who put in 198 volunteer hours toward this sale, and we thank the hundreds of good folks who came to our sale and bought so many items.

More than 95% of our funds go directly to purchase things for the library which are not covered by the regular library budget.
