Shocked by local yards
To the editor:
My sister and I recently returned to Hancock for a class reunion. We were shocked by the upkeep of yards and areas around yards in the city!
A snowmobile was parked on the sidewalk! A yard in the back of our mom’s house hasn’t been mowed in two years. We took a ride around Houghton’s neighborhoods and did not see anything like this.
Does Hancock have any requirements for the upkeep of the homes? If not, maybe it is time. We used to live in a very nice little city. What has happened?
