Medical staff gave good care

To the editor:

We neglected to mention our appreciation to the staff and management at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in our mom’s recent obituary.

She was a resident there for the last 2 1/2 years and we will always be grateful for the loving and personal care she was given. From the first day, when she was welcomed by the staff, we were all made to feel at home. Her every need was met – she got her afternoon “coffee break” and even snack which was her routine at home. We never heard a cross or impatient word; even late at night the staff were consistently caring and kind with each and every resident.

When we asked mom if she needed anything, she said, “They take good care of us here. I don’t have to do anything; not even think. I’m living the life of Riley.”

We were truly a part of “the team,” were kept informed and our wishes were honored in caring for her diabetes and other medical problems. We were comforted in knowing that she was not only cared for, but cared about, and will always remember the kind and caring service she got at the HCMCF.
