Spay/Neuter group says thanks

To the editor:

The volunteers of the Keweenaw Spay/Neuter Assistance Group would like to thank each of you who have helped to save an animal from a life of neglect or abuse. If you donated rummage or shopped at our sale, if you bought a paw at the Copper Country Vet Clinic, if you told a friend or neighbor to call K-SNAG for assistance to alter a pet, if you called about a stray or adopted one of our rescued strays, then you have helped to prevent needless suffering of an innocent animal and we sincerely thank you.

We especially thank Donna White, Jayne Harvey and all the friends and patrons of the L & L Bar in Calumet who recently held their Dolly Daze and Duck Pond fundraiser for K-SNAG. It takes a lot of time and energy to orchestrate this event, and we are truly grateful to all who were involved, including the businesses who contributed prizes.

Special thanks also go out to Mary Witheridge and Jeanne Andersen and the patrons of NorthwoodsMemories in Calumet, who recently held a card making fundraiser for K-SNAG. It is the kindness and generosity of people like you who help to keep K-SNAG up and running.

The garage sale season is ending, but we continue to receive reports about animals needing help.

So look for us at other venues throughout the winter months. The next big event will be our third annual Christmas Rummage and Bake Sale on Nov. 16 that the VFW in Hubbell. We hope to see you all there.

And please think of us if you consider adding a cat or kitten to your household. We have many lovely felines in need of permanent homes. Thank you.
