To the editor:

The Copper Country Elks held an Oktoberfest fundraiser on October 25th at the lodge in Calumet. This was an event to honor our our past member Jack Forsberg and to raise funds for our handicapped access to the lodge. This has been a personal goal of mine since 2009.

Thanks to members Tom Primeau, Bob Fleischmann, Ron Crouch, Andrea Kovachich, and Rodney Mishica along with spouses, this event was a huge success. Louie’s Fresh Market was so generous with a food donation. You all have my sincere gratitude along with all members of the Copper Country 404. This event brought us much closer to the amount needed for our handicapped ramp and new entry door. God willing we will have this up yet this fall. Any person interested in membership in our lodge, please contact me. We brother and sister Elks do so much charity work not only locally but on a state and national level.
