Parents were royally treated

To the editor:

My parents, Loyd and Jean Lander, came to PortagePointe together, nervous and not really wanting to be there. It was a sad time in their lives, having to leave the home they had lived in for the past 66 years of their marriage, a place they raised their six girls.

It was Dec. 13, 2012.

The staff at PortagePointe made them more than welcome, and treated them like a queen and a king, just how we thought our parents should be treated because, of course, we loved them.

We were so happy to be able to have them there. No words can even express to the staff enough thanks for all of the care and thoughtfulness they showered on our parents. Dad was only there a month and mom a little over a year.

We have so many things to be thankful for as a family, and the biggest one is the care that our parents received at PortagePointe. The love, the understanding and the gentleness, it was like our parents were their parents, or grandparents.

Thank you staff and friends of PortagePointe. You will be a part of the Lander family’s life forever.

Yvonne Lander
