K-SNAG thanks Econo Foods

To the editor:

The Keweenaw Spay/Neuter Assistance Group (K-SNAG) volunteers would like to thank Tadych’s EconoFoods for offering the “We Share” grocery receipt program to our community organizations. By saving and donating grocery receipts shoppers are able to help worthwhile non profit organizations, such as K-SNAG. This program has been a tremendous help to us as we continue to assist area residents with the cost of spaying and neutering their pets. Our main source of funding is our ongoing garage sale, held from May through October, so it is a challenge to keep our programs going through the winter months. Twice a year, the receipts that we have collected are turned in to Econo Foods and K-SNAG receives 1 percent of the total receipts. This is such an easy way to help, and the Copper Country Veterinary Clinic has made it even easier, by providing a collection canister on the counter in their lobby, where receipts may be dropped off. Receipts may also be mailed to us, or dropped off at our garage sale site on the Calumet/Lake Linden hill during the garage sale season. We are so grateful to all of our friends and supporters who save these receipts for us. Thanks to you all and to Econo Foods!
