To the editor:

Over the last several months it has been my privilege to be a resident at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility while recovering from a broken hip. I think of it as my lucky break because this place is downright outstanding in the five-star quality of care it renders to the patients here.

My thanks and appreciation go to the exemplary men and women of the nursing staff who hit the floor running when they begin their shift and give unstintingly to meet the emotional and physical needs of each resident.

Also, outstanding are the occupational, physical, and speech therapies, social services, housekeeping, maintenance, dietary, laundry, transport, activities and administrative departments. This place is a jewel in Houghton County’s health care system, they have not only helped me heal, they made me feel loved throughout my stay. Warmest Thanks,
