Bear should be live-trapped

To the editor:

The Audubon society encourages people to feed birds by putting feeders out to attract them. My daughter in law has placed several feeders out and window stick on type to feed humming birds.

She has taken beautiful pictures of the various birds attracted by feeding them.

Now the problem comes. A nuisance black bear has forced her to take the feeders down. A call was made to the department of conservation-regarding questioning this nuisance bear be live trapped and removed.

She was told take the feeders down and don’t put them out anymore. The bear has been hanging around her house for several months. What happens if this nuisance bear would kill her dogs or even attack her? Having said all of the above, my main concern is her safety. I urge the department of conservation to do what’s right-live trap this animal.
