SKY thankful for all help

To the editor:

While Simple Kindness for Youth (SKY) has made efforts in our community to provide a helping hand to our local youth, we continue to be inspired by our local youth lending a hand to SKY. Two such events that took place recently include the Chili Chase for Charity, sponsored by the Houghton High School National Honor Society, and the Reach for the S.K.Y. Talent Show, sponsored by the Student Leadership Committee, which is an inter-school organization. SKY would like to acknowledge the students that took time out of their busy days to make these events possible. For the Chili Chase, we would like to thank Marika Abbott, Ch Anderson-Justice, Sam Bethancourt, Sylvia Binkley, Maya Braden, Colin Campbell, Elise Cheney-Makens, Ben Collaer, Jacob Colling, Sydney Dillinger, Ingrid Flaspohler, Amanda Garnell, Daniel Gershensen, Nathanael Gockenbach, Shalina Gupta, Ian Helman, Ryne Hocking, Prabha Honrath, Julia Huuki, Kayla Jacobson, Colin Johnson, Kelsey Laban, David LaCross, Lilli Larson, Michelle Laux, Sarah Lyle, Kayla Makela, Jenna Murphy-Gast, Kyra Neufeld, Thomas Page, Andrea Revoyr, Alexander Shaw, Christine Shonnard and Samantha Verran. For the Reach for the S.K.Y Talent Show, we would like to thank Camille Clayton, Danielle Drake-Flam, Cassie Feeley, Shay Holzberger, Kyle LeClaire, Bella Maki, Paris Puuri, Emma Sarazin, and Drew Stockero for organizing the Talent Show. In addition, several students showcased their amazing talent, including Clariane Alqunio, Marya Julio, Noah Gershenson, Emily LaVergne, Daryn Dupont, Isabel Valencia, Bria Nevis, Lila Drake-Flam, Libbi Rogan, Taylor Busser, Daphne Maki, Caleb Cornish, Paris Puuri, Erin Lyle, Josh Moore, Andrew Bess, Drew Stockero, Briana Foreman, Garrick Ensminger, Wendi Tang, Ellie Luokkanen, Trent Maki, Stephanie Oja, and Amanda Utzman. In addition, we would like to thank Ruth Ryynanen and Carla Strome for providing their leadership to these students, and all of the many community members who helped out with these events. We are fortunate to live in a community that values giving students an opportunity to succeed despite any financial hardships they may be facing. Thanks for your support!
