To the editor:

It has been with sad interest that I’ve read Mr. Keranen’s letters to the editor and the responses to him by various believers. I’ve wanted to respond myself, but didn’t trust myself to respond appropriately, because I felt my own sinful nature wanted to muddy the waters.

However, God is fully capable of responding to the likes of Mr. Keranen, and has done so through his Scripture and the Holy Spirit breathed through his prophets and saints. Listen up, Mr. Keranen:

The fool says in his heart there is no God.

A fool’s mouth is his undoing and his lips a snare to his soul.

A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.

Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who trusts in wisdom keeps safe.

Fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Mr. Keranen, you have repeatedly and vigorously mocked God and his believers. Scripture has a message for you:

Be not deceived, God will not be mocked.

Vengeance is mine says the Lord, it is mine to repay.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

We believers feel a deep sadness for you, Mr. Keranen. A loving but sovereign God and his son will meet you at judgment, and unless you repent and embrace Christ Jesus as your lord and savior, the lake of fire awaits — your final resting place for all eternity.

We passionately pray for you and your peers and cohorts. You still have time: choose wisely.
