Trust in Christ; get transformed
To the editor:
Corruption is rampant in America as never before. Top issues include (1) black entertainer pays two people to pull off a racial/political hoax and gets no jail time, (2) FBI fraudulence at the highest level, (3) liberal media lying daily to bring down President Trump, (4) addictive drugs infiltrating America via Mexican border, and (5) proposed safehouse injection site where illegal drugs can be administered with clean needles.
Notable observation: Had it not been for the unexpected election of Donald Trump, America under Hillary Clinton would be embracing the globalist utopia advocated by Barack Obama. Utopian fantasies always lead to tyranny, as in the utopian revolutions of 1789 (French), 1917 (Russian), and 1949 (Chinese) that led to overwhelming bloodshed and crushing oppression.
It will be wonderful when Christ’s return establishes His Kingdom on earth. Christ promises “…he shall rule them with a rod of iron….” (Rev 19:15) Jesus’ promise covers his followers who will be given power over nations because they too endured persecution. Understood as the Good Shepherd, rule means to lead or feed the sheep. Remember: The Shepherd carried a rod and a staff.
Christ’s rule by a rod of iron means true justice will prevail. The Son of God will sit on the world’s throne and hold complete, absolute authority.
This present age boasts of people’s rights and great personal liberty. It’s me-first philosophy fulfills end-time apostacy. “For men shall be lovers of their own selves.” (2 Tim 3:1-2)
Man was created by an all-wise Creator 6000 years ago and was not made to rule himself. Rev 4:11 says “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
Before his imminent return Christ had to die for the sins of the whole world … past, present and future. He was the sacrificial Lamb without blemish. 1 John 2:1 says, “And he is the propitiation (wrath taker) for our sins….” We were slaves to sin, incapable of self-liberation. So Christ redeemed all humans (Col 1:14).
Keep in mind God’s gift of grace displayed by Jesus on that old rugged cross. A gift can neither be earned nor worked for. Doing so insults God. Romans 1:16 says, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.” You just have to believe. Trust in and live for Christ. Your life will be transformed.
