Jamboree worked out well

To the editor:

The 27th annual E.B. Holman Country Music Jamboree was held at Houghton High School on October 12, 2019. As always, Mike Urbis was greatly entertaining and the Rolling Thunder Band put on a great show. Special thanks to Bill Kautto for his extra time and help this year. Many of the performers donate their time and we’re so grateful. This long standing tradition is imperative to our PTO. Profits from our show benefit the art and music programs and many other programs such as our teacher wish lists. We’d like to thank the 34 sponsors who make this possible every year by covering stage rental, band expenses, and advertising. Thank you to Todd Van Dyke of Houghton Community Broadcasting (KBEAR 102.3 FM, WOLV 97.7 FM), Dick Storm with Eagle Country WCUP 105.7 FM, and Mitch Lake and Mary Ann Schulz from WMPL 93.5 FM for advertising for us. Many Stanton township families generously contributed to concessions food and band meals.

Thank you to all who helped make this fundraiser a success! We look forward to another great show next year.
