Predator hunt huge success

To the editor:

The 8th Annual Copper Country Predator Hunt was a big success. The hunt reduced the number of coyotes that pray on newborn spring fawns, giving our already low deer population a better chance of surviving. As well as helping the small game population rise. The event also raised over $1,300.00 for the Keweenaw Peninsula deer feeding programs. This year’s Copper Country Predator Hunt champion is Mark Markham.

A special thank you goes out to our major sponsors: Northwoods Sporting Goods, Ace Hardware, Harter’s Party Store, The Loading Zone II, UP Trappers Association District 1, Patriot Towing, Keweenaw Chevy, Copper Country Ford, Campioni Hardware.
