Time to step up, government

To the editor:

Life has never been this uncertain in my lifetime. Everything I have ever known will never be the same.as before this pandemic. Food banks are struggling without food suppliers while our farmers are forced to throw away millions of pounds of produce due to “no demand.” It seems the problem stems from the U.S. still allowing imports from Mexico and South America, which bankrupts our own farmers. What is wrong with this picture, I ask you?

The EPA needs to step up and start a countrywide recycling program for glass, paper, and especially plastic. Our oceans are in dire straights due to this pollution which is killing off the coral, fish, and wildlife. Global climate change is melting the glaciers and ice pack, and that is killing off the arctic wildlife.

When in God’s name are we going to wake up and do something? I hope our governmental agencies step up to the plate and put in a plan for all of us to participate in. If not we are going to be in more trouble than we already are. Stop the laziness and ignorance and lets get to work. Now is the time we need to unite and fight. Please help.
