Ski team thankful

November 9, 2012
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

The Mont Ripley Race Team would like to thank all of the volunteers who have dedicated themselves to the recent color tour chairlift rides and the annual ski swap. The events are the major fundraisers for our local youth downhill racing program. Mont Ripley generously provides MRRT the use of its facilities and we are thankful and fortunate as a community to have such a well-run ski destination so close to home.

These fundraisers are successful because of the support of citizens who attended the events. For everybody who shopped at the ski swap or rode the chairlift up to see the stunning panoramic views, MRRT is very much appreciative.

Our focus now will be developing youth alpine skiers into the most proficient downhill racers they can be.

Any youth interested in trying the racing program can try it for free any time during the season.

There is information in Mont Ripley's ski chalet or come to the racing shack on race days.

Let's hope for big snow.

Michael Salmi,

President MRRT

Houghton
