Kids enjoyed the party

November 10, 2012
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

On Oct. 30, the Kermit's Keweenaw Kids Youth Program held its annual Halloween Party. The kids enjoyed pizza and hot dogs, as well as an assortment of treats. Music and karaoke was provided by Bill Brotherton. Kids enjoyed music, games, a costume contest, candy scramble and a pumpkin/toy raffle.

This event was the result of the assistance and donations from parents, community members and local businesses. A heartfelt thanks to those who helped out with donations, decorating, games, working the kitchen, judging costumes, and the after-the-party tear down: Bill and Ann Brotherton, Susan Cronenworth, Christen DeFore, Debbie Harri, Kelly Harry, Stephanie Harry, Darlene Huovinen, Danise Jarvey, Michelle Mahrley, Lauren Mattila, Tom Novascone, Carol Patrick and the Mohawk Park Committee, Cindy Pellegrini, Maddie Rajala, Genna Studebaker, Victor and Peggy Tanskanen, and Tim and Wendy Winnamaki. A sincere thanks also to the Village of Ahmeek, and all those who brought treats. Thanks also to the following businesses that donated: Burger King, Mohawk Superette, Pat's IGA, Pizza Works, Slim's and Walmart. My apologies for those who have helped out, but whose name did not make it to the list. Again, this wouldn't be possible without the help of parents and volunteers.

Thanks so much.
