Morning blaze displaces dozen

BOSTON LOCATION - One person suffered minor injuries and 11 others were displaced from a residence after a fire early this morning near Boston Location.

The Houghton County Sheriff's Department and Boston and Quincy-Franklin-Hancock Township fire departments responded to the fire about 1 a.m. on Rhode Island Road.

Eight children and three adults were displaced by the fire; residents were able to contain the initial fire.

One person was taken by Mercy EMS to Portage Health with minor burns. He was treated and released.

Members of the American Red Cross also assisted at the scene.
