ATLANTIC MINE - Mary E. Lampinen, 63, a resident of Atlantic Mine, died at home on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, following a short illness.
She was born in Hancock, Mich., on Jan. 5, 1949, a daughter of Eino and Mildred (Hulkonen) Lampinen, and was a 1967 graduate of Jeffers High School.
Mary was employed as a waitress at Armando's Restaurant in Houghton for 28 years, retiring due to ill health.
Surviving are her mother, Mildred, a patient at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock; two sons, John Henry Lampinen of Milwaukee, Wis., and Jason Edward Lampinen (Nichole Mattila) of Atlantic Mine; two grandsons, Kain and Aiden; two brothers, Joseph and Edward Lampinen of Atlantic Mine; three sisters, Anne Lampinen of Milwaukee, Linda (Peter) Ruotsala and Diana (Mike) Maginnis of Atlantic Mine; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Eino.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range, followed by a time for reflections and memories of Mary's life at 11 a.m.
