Anna L. Manninen

TOIVOLA Anna L. Manninen, 68, a resident of Toivola, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, where she had been a patient for the past several years.

She was born in Trimountain on Jan.4, 1944, a daughter of the late John W. and Linda (Honkavaara) Rauvala and attended the Heikkinen and Painesdale schools.

On Sept. 16, 1961, she was married to Joseph Manninen in Hancock.

Anna worked for 11 years as a nurse aide at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, retiring due to ill health.

Anna was a member of the Painesdale Apostolic Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed reading, camping and journaling.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph of Toivola; two sons, Daniel (Sandy) Manninen of Toivola and Rickie Manninen of Hancock; a granddaughter, Carrie Ann Manninen; one brother, William Rauvala of Toivola; an uncle, Harold Honkavaara of Trimountain; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22 in the Painesdale Apostolic Lutheran Church with Pastor Jay Weidner to officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. Spring burial will be in the Toivola Cemetery.
