Main Street Calumet grateful

January 5, 2013
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

Main Street Calumet extends thanks to everyone who helped make the Christmas in Calumet celebration a success this year. Santa Claus made his annual appearance at Rowe Furniture and Flooring and handed out goodie bags and good cheer to all the good boys and girls who came to see him.

And come they did - in unexpected numbers that far outpaced Santa's visit last year. Thanks to a groundswell of community support in response to Main Street Calumet's request for assistance, every child who visited Santa left with a goodie bag and a Christmas memory to take home.

Main Street would especially like to thank: Coppertown USA, Dennis and Susan Sundberg, James and Janelle Cone, Keweenaw Copper, Anthony Abe, Ross and Barbara Gronwald, Craig and Jill Bachelor, Kevin Fraki and Eagle Radio, Bill's Electrical, Susan Dana, David and Linda Grahek, Gundlach Champion, Inc., Shana Porteen, Jane Reese, Todd Van Dyke and WOLV-FM, Calumet Lions Club, Laurium Apostolic Church, Jon Marson, North Star BP, David Rheault, the Finlandia Women's Softball Team, Calumet High School Cheerleaders, Richard Buchko and WMET Radio, Rowe Furniture and Flooring, Laura Smyth and in particular, thanks to Richard Gee and Frank Fiala.
