LAKESHORE DRIVE - Lynda Janovsky, 63, a resident of Lakeshore Drive, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Wednesday morning, Jan. 9, 2013.

She was born Sept. 24, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Evelyn J. (Brent) Papesh. Lynda spent her career in medical clinics and dental offices. Locally, she worked at Keweenaw Memorial and most recently was employed as a manager at Portage Medical Group.

Lynda was a great cook and loved the time she spent cooking. She loved being with people and especially loved being with her family. She enjoyed reading, crafts, stained glass and spent many hours as a hockey mom.

Lynda was a very giving person, whether it was volunteering her time to take charge in the Chagrin Falls Elementary School playground project, teaching religious education at her parish, Sacred Heart Church in Calumet, or singing in the choir.

Preceding her in death were her father, Charles J. Papesh in 1987; her mother Evelyn in 2010; and a brother, Charles Papesh in 1987.

Surviving are her husband, Charley; son, Christopher of Irvine, Calif.; brother, James (Terri) Papesh of Cleveland; brothers-in-law, Andy Janovsky of Dayton, Ohio and Jim (Jody) Janovsky of Pittsburgh, Penn.; sisters-in-law, Mary (Ed) Honda of Chicago and Gayle Papesh of Cleveland; nieces and nephews, Beth (Adam), Brian (Vanessa), Jeff (Shanna), Allison (John), Neil and Nicholas.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet with Fr. Abraham Mupparathara to officiate. Friends may call in the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service in the church on Saturday. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
