HANCOCK - Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly is conducting its annual Easter dinner on March 31, and according to Cathy Aten, many volunteers are still needed to help out.
Aten, who is volunteer coordinator for LBFE, said there is need for assistance for almost every function of the dinners.
"We still need help at all (nine) sites," she said. "We actually need a lot of volunteer help at this point."
Help is needed for cooking, setting up, cleaning up after the dinners and driving the elderly friends to and from the dinner sites, Aten said. Drivers can either drop off the diners then come back to pick them up when it's over or stay and have dinner.
There is also help needed at the two hot meal meal delivery sites, Aten said.
"That is always the greatest need," she said.
Donations of some food are needed, especially homemade items, Aten said.
"We need desserts," she said. "We're looking for a variety of desserts."
Cakes, bars and pies are especially desirable, Aten said.
Volunteers are needed to help cook at all sites, Aten said.
Help is needed between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the sit-down dinner sites. Volunteers can either stay for a couple hours or the entire day. Help is needed at the hot meal delivery sites from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Clean-up at the sit-down sites will start in the last two hours, Aten said.
There is a special kind of volunteer needed for the day, also.
"We're still looking for entertainment at a couple sites," she said.
Entertainment can be either in the form of a musical instrument or singing, Aten said.
