CALUMET - Calumet's Brendan Jacques will be representing some of Michigan's best high school hockey players this weekend at the Minnesota National Invitational Tournament Showcase Tournament in Plymouth, Minn.
Jacques will be a part of Team Michigan in the fourth-annual event, which features the best prep players from several states and runs April 26-29.
The squad is coached by current Novi High School coach and former NHL player Todd Krygier.
Fellow Copper King Ben Storm and Hancock goaltender Devin Kero played on the 2012 Team Michigan, which won the tourney.
Jacques, who is committed to Northern Michigan University, played in 103 games over four years at Calumet, scoring 66 goals and adding 89 assists. His total of 155 points is seventh all-time in school history.
The two-time Michigan High School Hockey Coaches Association all-state first team selection led the Great Lakes Hockey Conference in scoring in the last two seasons and was named GLHC Player of the Year in 2012-13.
