HOUGHTON - More sixth-inning heroics and more rain defined Monday's Minor division play in the Portage Lake Little League.

Auto Pro Glass and Tire defeated Thrivent Financial 12-9, coming from behind in the last inning. Erik Flaspohler had the game-tying single, while brothers Andrew and Austin Kinnunen performed solidly on the pitching mound.

Christian Hocking and Eric Anderson delivered three hits for Thrivent, with William Romano handling the lead pitching duties.

Chassell VFW scored six runs in the sixth and final inning to break a tie and defeat Tervo Agency 9-3, with the biggest blow a grand slam off the bat of Jiseung Choi.

Chad Nordstrom had a strong outing for Tervo, but any comeback attempt was thwarted by a downpour in the bottom of the sixth.

In Saturday Minor play, Auto Pro got eight strikeouts in four innings from Cody Sebbas to defeat Calumet Elks 15-3.

Nolan Sturos, Austin Kinnunen, Sebbas and Ethan Jarvela each had multi-hit games.

J. Peltier Construction cruised to a 14-1 decision over Calumet Elks. Shawn Ruotsala, Dylan Horning and Jonah Horning combined to allow two hits, two walks and strike out 10 in the four-inning game.

Ruotsala and Davin Hill had three-hit nights, while Dylan Primeau added two.

For the Elks, McKenna Foster and Nate Hiller both pitched and had a hit apiece, including Hiller's RBI single in the fourth.

Switching gears to softball, Michigan Tech Employees Federal Credit Union defeated E-Center 9-6 at the Boneyard in Lake Linden.

MTEFCU broke open the game with a five-run third inning. Becca Markham doubled, Andra Campbell and Emma Almquist singled and three threw walks.

E-Center brought the winning run to the plate before lining into a game-ending double play.

Markham was the winning pitcher, Laura Lyons took the loss.

Kirsten Codere went 3-for-3 in defeat for E-Center.
