Paul A. Paananen

LANSING - Paul A. Paananen, 78, a former resident of Trimountain and Ontonagon, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013, in Lansing after a long illness.

He was born November 23, 1933 in Trimountain, a son of Alfred and Hilma (Laamanen) Paananen.

He was united in marriage to Linda Marttila in 1955 and she preceded him in death in 2010.

Paul was employed by White Pine Copper Co. in the power plant until his retirement.

They traveled and lived in several places including Texas, Alaska, Colorado and Washington.

Paul was an excellent carpenter. He built two homes and a cottage and remodeled many more.

Paul served in the U.S. Army in Germany.

Surviving Paul are his children: Earl of Tacoma, Wash. and Diane of Lansing; sisters, Marlene (Don) Janovsky and Elaine (Lloyd) Schuster, both of Houghton; grandchildren, Jessica, Clemence, Amanda, and Russell; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be in the Liminga Cemetery at a later date.
