BRIGHTON, Mich. - Eric William Daavettila, 25, of Brighton, passed away suddenly Saturday, September 21, 2013.
He was born on December 23, 1987, in St Joseph, Mich. Beloved son of Neil and Christina (Witt) Daavettila. Eric attended the Brighton area schools and graduated from Brighton High school with the class of 2006. He then attended Michigan Tech University and graduated with a civil engineering degree in May, 2013.
Eric was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Howell.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Paul and Helen Daavettila.
Surviving are his parents, Neil and Christina Daavettila of Brighton, Mich.; three sisters, Emily (Tom) Halonen of Howell, Mich., Molly of Houghton, and Bethany at home; two brothers, Chad (Adena) of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., and Drew at home; special friend, Mary Ylitalo; one niece; four nephews; grandparents, William and Betty Witt of Chassell, Verna Daavettila of Calumet; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral service for Eric will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First Apostolic Lutheran Church at 2970 Oak Grove Rd in Howell, Mich. with Pastor Donald Pennala officiating.
Burial will follow in the Howell Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Howell and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Thayer-rock.com
