The Daily Mining Gazette

HANCOCK - Finlandia held Concordia (Wis.) off the board for the last two periods, but the visiting Falcons got enough of a lead to win their Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game 2-1 Saturday at Houghton County Arena.

Sierra Hache tied the game at 1 for Finlandia at 11:28 of the first period, but an unassisted goal from Brandi Muller, her second of the game put Concordia up 2-1 at 16:11 and ended the scoring.

Breanna Hynes stopped 37 shots for the Lions (0-2), who are at St. Scholastica next weekend.

The Finlandia men's team also lost Saturday, getting routed 11-0 at Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
