CANTON, Mich. - Millicent S. DiMaggio (nee Pietila), passed away November 5, 2013, at the age of 87.
She was born on October, 26, 1926, in Painesdale, cherished daughter of the late Severin and Ellen (nee Kusisto) Pietila; dear mother of Patricia (the late Thomas), the late Judith Dempster, Susan (Lynn), Andrew (Nancy), David (Mary Lou) and John (Kim); dear grandmother of Rachelle, Suzanne, Marc, Errol, Stephanie, Katherine, Andrea, Cara, Andrew, Bryan, Elizabeth and Robert; cherished great-grandmother of 10; dearest sibling of James Tiura and Audrey Tiura (daughter Kristen Voss).
Millicent was blessed by God with a large family with the love of her life, Judge Andrew DiMaggio. She was especially fond of her Lutheran faith and the town of Painesdale, where she kept a summer home for over 20 years. It was in Painesdale where she lovingly remembered her early youth, being raised by her mother, Ellen, and a dozen adored aunts and uncles after her father, Severin, was killed in a tragic mine accident when she was four years of age.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013, in the Jukuri-Antila Funeral Home in Hancock, with Pastor Bucky Beach to officiate.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
