FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -Martha R. Bohto, 92, passed away April 7, 2014, in Fayetteville, N.C.
She was a former resident of South Range, later moving to Houghton where she spent most of her life. At the time of her death, she was residing with her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Daryll Morin in Fayetteville, N.C.
She was born in South Range on December 19, 1921, the daughter of the late Evert and Hilda Branvall and attended the South Range School.
Prior to retirement, she worked as a housekeeper for the late Herman Gundlach, Sr. and family, later retiring from the surgical department at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hancock, currently known as Portage Health.
Martha is survived by daughter, Mary Jane (Daryll) Morin of Fayetteville, N.C.; grandchildren, Stephen (Pamela) Morin of Charlotte, N.C., and Pamela (Joe) Christian of Aurora, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Stephen Morin of Charlotte, N.C., Scott (Ginelle) Morin of Charlotte, N.C., Matthew and Sydney Christian of Aurora, Colo.; and special friends, Barbara and Louis Zenner and family of Houghton.
Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly; five brothers, Edwin, Jacob, Arthur, Norman and William; and two sisters, Bertha Schoppe and Judith Branvall.
Arrangements are being handled by the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range for a memorial service and interment in the spring with a date and time to be announced at a later date.
