Calumet and Lake Linden-Hubbell both play in Saturday games for a district title.

In Division 6, the Copper Kings (9-1) host Menominee at 1 p.m. Saturday while the Lakes (7-3) play a Division 8 matchup at the same time at Ishpeming.

Calumet is coming off a convincing 42-14 win over Negaunee last week. Menominee (7-3) is coming off a 48-18 win over Westwood.

Saturday will be the second-ever matchup between Calumet and Menominee, the only other matchup being the 2014 district championship, a 48-7 Maroons win.

The Lakes are coming off a 36-14 win over West Iron County last week, while Ishpeming (8-2) rolled Bark River-Harris 48-8.

Saturday’s matchup will be the third-ever game between the Lakes and Hematites. The schools met for the first time in Week 2 of last season, a 38-12 Ishpeming victory.

Lake Linden-Hubbell narrowly lost to Ishpeming on Sept. 7 by a 36-34 margin. The Lakes held a late lead before Ishpeming scored with 6.9 seconds left in the game on a run from inside Lake Linden-Hubbell’s 3. The Lakes were without senior quarterback Carter Crouch, who tore his right ACL in a preseason scrimmage. Crouch played in parts of six games this season to help the Lakes to the playoffs.

The Calumet-Menominee winner faces Harrison (6-4) or Maple City Glen Lake (9-1).

Lake Linden-Hubbell or Ishpeming will face either Beal City (9-1) or Johannesburg-Lewiston (10-0).

Other UP schools still in the 11-player playoffs include unbeaten Iron Mountain (10-0 overall, Division 7, vs. Charlevoix) and Sault Ste. Marie (7-3 overall, Division 4, vs. Cadillac).

In eight-player, Pickford (9-1) visits North Central (10-0) on Saturday. Cedarville (6-4) visits Hillman (9-1) on Friday.
