Finlandia men blow out Martin Luther College 96-69
HANCOCK — Nick Cercone scored a game-high 26 points to lead Finlandia University to a 96-69 men’s basketball win over Martin Luther College Friday evening.
“We played a really balanced game tonight,” FU skipper Mike O’Donnell said. “We were passing the ball around and finding good shots.”
Terrance Fuller added 20 points for the Lions, who held a 53-30 halftime lead at Paavo Nurmi Gym. The 26 points by Cercone, a Gwinn High product, was a career high.
Marcus Geralds and Geoff Smart notched 18 and 13 points respectively fpr the 5-16 victors.
O’Donnell said the play of Smart, a mid-season addition, has been a pleasant one.
“Geoff Smart gives us a little more size and is a good passer,” he said.
The lions will host Bethany Lutheran at 6 p.m. today.
