HANCOCK — Dean Kangas State Farm spotted REL Inc.-Mohawk Technologies a quick 2-0 lead in Tuesday night’s game at the Hancock Driving Park. Then the Hancock team had to rely on the pitching of Brady Turner to register an important 7-3 Twilight League victory.

“It’s a good thing we had Brady (Turner) on the mound tonight,” State Farm player-manager Brian Juopperi said. “He pitched really well …. and kept us in the game until our bats came alive.”

The winners plated all seven of their runs in a big fourth inning against Dan Johnson.

REL scored twice in the opening inning as a couple of errors by State Farm opened the way.

The eventual winners used hits by Dave Wesa, Brady Turner, Juopperi and Jason Koski in their big fourth inning.

Carson Turner also had a big two-run double off the fence to help spark in the frame.

“Up until then, he (Johnson) had us pretty well handcuffed,” Juopperi said.

Brady Turner, Wesa and Juopperi all finished the night with two hits.

Turner gave up four hits, walked three and fanned eight batters.

Johnson and reliever Bryce Turner gave up ten safeties and struck out three batters.

Dean Kangas improved to 3-4, while REL Inc. dropped to 2-5.
