SOUTH RANGE — In Portage Lake Little League Minors action Wednesday, Auto Pro Glass & Tire defeated DP Construction, 9-4, at Veterans Field in South Range.

Ted Kilpela got the call on the mound for Auto Pro and in four innings of work, he had six strikeouts while only giving up two runs.

Auto Pro’s defense shone in the contest, especially efforts from Redick Randell, Max Sidortsov and Gavin Larson in keeping DP from mounting rallies in the late innings.

Forest LaCourt and Vince Heinonen both had multiple RBIs for Auto Pro to spark the offense.

DP made a pitching chance, bringing Chase Keranen into the contest, and he shut down Auto Pro’s hot bats, surrendering just one run over four innings with nine strikeouts.

Keranen also helped himself at the plate, getting a couple of hits. Casey Hiller, Jake Mattson and Matthew Bennett also had hits for DP.
