SOUTH RANGE — In Portage Lake Little League Minors action Monday, South Range VFW defeated the Copper Country Elks, 20-6, in five innings.

For South Range, Jamie Larson, Owen Turpeinen and Porter Markham combined for 11 strikeouts.

Turpeinen also helped his cause at the plate, where he had an inside-the-park home run.

For the Elks, Trent Pietila led the way with two hits. Pierce Johnson and Landon Gibson both had doubles.
