TAPIOLA — Houghton stayed unbeaten in Over 50 Softball League play Thursday, but not before getting a battle from Chassell.

Trailing 7-2 early in the game, Houghton rallied back for a 10-9 win to go to 4-0 on the season.

Madajewski was the winning pitcher, with Mitch Lake getting the mound loss.

Jed Pollard, Darren Hietala and Dave Eikenberry picked up three hits for Houghton.

Charlie Kemppainen, Daryl Putala and Pat Duguay had raps each for Chassell.

In the other game, South Range grabbed an 8-0 lead after one inning and coasted to a 12-1 win over Tapiola.

Brien Ricci allowed just four hits in getting the win. Len Juntunen took the loss.

Dave Fehringer, Dick Frantti and Ricci collected three hits apiece for 2-2 Range. Tapiola is 0-4 on the season.
