Hancock routs Miners to close out season, 7-1

HANCOCK — The Hancock Bulldogs hockey team got three goals from Leroy Bastian and four assists from Cole Stuber in a 7-1 win over the visiting Negaunee Miners to close out the regular season Saturday.

Bastian scored five minutes in to get his first of the night. Stuber and Luke Marcotte picked up assists on the tally.

The line of Bastian, Stuber and Marcotte accounted for eight points for the Bulldogs.

Bastian’s second and third came back-to-back in the third at 7:05 and 12:07, respectively, giving the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead. 

The Miners got one back when Connor O’dovero at 12:56 of the third, but the Bulldogs responded with a goal from co-captain Austin Salani just 13 seconds later. The goal was Salani’s second of the night after scoring early in the second period.

Calvin Heinonen and Todd Anderson both added goals in the second period.

Dan Wroblewski made five saves to earn the win.
