Calumet council seeks new blood: … as does a new village resident
CALUMET — Amid arguments and accusations at the Village Council meeting that could not be conducted due to lack of quorum, a young woman who recently arrived in Calumet told the council members present that she would like to be appointed to the council to fill one of the three vacancies so that the council could continue conducting regular business.
Darla Haine, a native of Minnesota, has not resided in the village for very long, but has enjoyed living there, and would like to see the village, and the council move forward.
She and Andrew Ranville were in the audience for the special meeting that was to be conducted Thursday, and both expressed an interest in being appointed to the council.
Village President Dave Geisler told Haine and Ranville that they would need to complete a simple letter of interest and submit it to the council for review. If the review is favorable, they would then be eligible to be appointed.
