HOUGHTON — The Houghton-Portage Township School District Board approved a two-year contract agreement with support staff at its meeting Monday.

The 16 staff members, part of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, will receive a 1.5 percent salary increase.

“It was moved along quickly and smoothly,” Superintendent Doreen Klingbeil said.

There were no other changes to the contract, Klingbeil said.
