Winter road conditions varied with first snow
While the southern part of the Copper Country got its first dose of winter driving Monday morning, Keweenaw County did not receive as much snow as its neighbors to the south. Sheriff Curt Pennala said his office did not receive any calls of mishaps, crashes or motorists in trouble. “For us the numbers were low,” Pennala said Tuesday morning. “It seems people were traveling carefully.” Most of the higher amounts of snowfall and the slushiness stayed to the south, he said. “We did get a little bit of it up here, but not a ton of it,” he said.
