Timothy E. Kilpela, 67, a resident of Hancock unexpectedly passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, at his home from an apparent heart attack. He was born on February 1, 1956, a son of Howard and Lillian (Poyhonen) Kilpela. Tim was raised in Hancock and was a graduate of Hancock High School. Mr. Kilpela has worked for various heating and cooling companies in the area and retired from the Hancock Bike Shop where he had worked as a small engine mechanic. Bruce Haapapuro, 83, a former local businessman and resident of Portage Township, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on March 2, 2023. He was born in Liminga, MI, on March 3, 1939, a son of the late Henry A. and Hilja A. (Hanson) Haapapuro. Bruce served his country in the National Guard receiving an Honorable discharge in 1964. Craig John Rheault, 49, of Lake Linden, passed away on May 27, 2023. He was born June 20, 1973, a son of Larry and Sandy Rheault. He attended Lake Linden-Hubbell High School, graduating in 1991. Following high school, Craig worked in construction and most recently for Copper Country Mental Health Services. Craig loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Stallbaumer Lynn E. Stallbaumer, 72, formerly of Centralia, Kansas, died on December 30, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada after battling cancer for over eight years. Lynn was the son of Herman and Margaret Stallbaumer. He had two brothers, Galen Stallbaumer and Kirby Stallbaumer (deceased on December 12, 2022), and sisters JoAnn McKinney and Elaine Chase. She was born on July 6, 1950, in Hancock, MI, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Mihelac) Marino. Gloria was raised in Dodgeville and was a graduate of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church. Lucille M. Makela, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2023, at Canal View, located in Hancock, Michigan. Lu was born August 10, 1940 the daughter of Frank and Viola (Isaacson) Perona.
