DUNCAN TOWNSHIP — A  snowmobile accident in Duncan Township Thursday resulted in injury for 14-year-old female from Fox Lake, Illinois, according to a press release from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was riding on trail No. 8/15 near Sidnaw when she lost control of her vehicle and left the trail. She was ejected causing injury to a hip and leg. The snowmobile had minor damage, and was towed from the scene by other riders in the group.

Covington Township EMS transported the injured female to Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L’Anse. Assisting at the scene were Bay Ambulance and Covington Township EMS.
