What do high school seniors think about multiculturalism? The Parade of Nations wants to know. And they’re offering a $1,000 scholarship to an area high school senior for the winning essay on the subject.

The scholarship must be used at Michigan Technological University.

The 500-750 word essays will address these questions:

· What does multiculturalism mean to you?

· Why does it matter to you, to your community, to our country, to the world?

All area high schools are being invited to participate.

The deadline to submit the essays is July 1, 2020.

Essays should be sent to International Programs and Services, Room 200, Administration Building at Michigan Tech, 1400 Townsend Drive, Houghton 49931, attention Laura Givens.

The theme of the 2020 Parade of Nations is One World, Our World. It is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020. This is the 31st anniversary of the popular fall festival.
