HOUGHTON — On Thursday morning, the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office was alerted as to a man slumped in his vehicle, parked in front of the Sheriff’s Office, according to a release from that agency.
Deputies identified him as a 32-year-old Hancock man, who was nodding off and passing out from having just intravenously used narcotics. The man was observed having an intravenous needle on his lap.
He recovered in a short time without needing medical attention, and stated he was waiting for his girlfriend, who was meeting with her probation officer inside the court hours next door.
The man was taken into custody and for a bond violation regarding a previous case, and the girlfriend was lodged in the Houghton County Jail for a probation violation.
