Hancock Schools offers update on student meals
HANCOCK — In a Tuesday afternoon email, Superintendent Steve Patchin said there were three items in the Food Service Department of which parents and students should be aware:
• Children who are participating at school in The Free Breakfast and Lunch Meals are now being offered meal pick-up for Saturdays and Sundays.
• Children who are participating in virtual learning, homeschooling, or too young to go to school, are offered The Free Breakfast and Lunch Meals seven days a week.
• The school is offering meal pickup for all children 18 and under during the Winter Break on Monday, Dec. 22 and 29.
Patchin said parents who are interested in any of these services, please sign up by emailing Shelby Turnquist at sturnquist@hancock.k12.mi.us. Please include:
• The child(ren)’s age, grade and a phone number where the parent can be reached.
• Please indicated the services of interest, for example: two-day pick up, seven-day pick up or Winter Break pickup.
• All children 18 years old and younger are eligible until June 30, 2021.
“Please make sure to e-mail me if you will not be able to make it any week after signing up or if you wish to discontinue the service at anytime,” said Patchin.
Additionally, the email state that meal pickup is every Tuesday from 4-5:15 p.m., in the bus lane at the Hancock Elementary School.
