TAMARACK CITY — A Tamarack City house was described as a total loss after an electrical fire Friday afternoon.

Three people were in the house at the time, all of whom got out safely, said Tamarack City Volunteer Fire Department Chief Steve Klein. The fire at the Tamarack Street house was reported about 1:30 p.m.

The fire began in a stairway in the house, Klein said.

Klein said the house was a total loss.

“The water damage is extensive, and there’s a fair amount of second-floor and third-floor fire damage,” he said.

In addition to Tamarack City, the Hubbell and Lake Linden fire departments assisted at the scene.
