HANCOCK — At approximately 11:55 a.m. on Friday, the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office responded to what was reported as a vehicle fire on Boston Road. The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hancock City Police Department.

Upon arrival, two vehicles were fully engulfed at a private residence and the fire was spreading into the surrounding wooded area. The Quincy/Franklin Fire Department was assisted by the Dollar Bay Fire Dept., Calumet Township Fire Dept. and the DNR Forest Division from Baraga. Mercy Ambulance was also on scene. The fire was contained to the residential property.
