Christmas returns to Calumet Friday

CALUMET — Main Street Calumet (MSC) has announced that Christmas in Calumet is on. Celebrations begin Friday evening at the Village Hall on Sixth Street.

“We will kick things off in Calumet this Friday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m.,” said Leah Polzien, MSC executive director, “with a Tree-Lighting Ceremony and Santa visit at the Calumet Village Hall, hosted by the Calumet Theatre.”

On Saturday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. the Keweenaw Heritage Center will have Crafts with Santa, also hosted by the Calumet Theatre.

Also on Saturday the Keweenaw National Historic Park Visitor Center will have an Open House from noon – 3 p.m. with crafts for the kids and “Living Windows” with the Friends of Fashion. Wagon rides will run from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

“Enjoy free wagon rides in the downtown district,” said Polzien. “Hop aboard on Fifth Street, by Cafe Rosetta.”
