Unique gifts available at the Holiday Craft Show

HOUGHTON — With Christmas only weeks away, many holiday shoppers are still searching for gifts for their loved ones. If you are hunting for the perfect holiday gift, the Daily Mining Gazette’s Holiday Craft Show is the place to be.

The craft show will take place at the Copper Country Mall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11. Numerous local vendors will be in attendance, offering a wide variety of unique gift items.

One vendor who will be present at the upcoming event is local craftsperson Joanne Kingman, who will be offering hand-crafted, nature-inspired items, from candle holders to framed pictures.

Kingman is a Hancock resident whose work is inspired by, and often features, natural Copper Country materials such as birch bark, driftwood, stones, and leaves. Kingman said that these items make great holiday gifts.

In addition to selling her own crafts, Kingman said that she is also curious to see what other vendors have to offer this year. Kingman has attended the Holiday Craft Show in the past, and expects a good turnout at this year’s event.

“It’s always been a good show for us, well attended and no problems,” she said.

The Deer Hunters’ Widows Craft show took place in November and was attended by 55 vendors, offering an extensive selection of items including jewelry, knitted goods, woodworking items, gift baskets, wreaths, coffee mugs, canned goods, baked items, and much more.

Attendees reported that the Deer Hunters’ Widows Craft Show was well attended, giving many area residents the chance to get a head start on holiday shopping.

The upcoming Holiday Craft Show provides a second chance for shoppers to peruse the many offerings of local artists and craftspersons, and find the perfect holiday gift items for their friends and family members.
